The Cheroot Journal is focused on the following three broad areas: 1) A critical understanding and articulation of indigenous, traditional and alternative worldviews, life-worlds, cosmologies, knowledge systems and practices, and issues related to these 2) A critical understanding of the contemporary world through an indigenous lens 3) A scrutiny of knowledge and its political economy, sociology, philosophy etc. – particularly as it relates to hegemonic knowledge systems and their impact on indigenous/traditional/alternative/community knowledge.
